State Lawmakers Break Routine with Ag Day

State Ag DayIn March 2015, members of the Tennessee General Assembly took part in an Ag Day celebration to show their appreciation for the state’s farming community.

Members of the House and Senate squared off against one another in a corn-selling contest. The House team, led by House Speaker Beth Harwell, won by just a few ounces shelling over five pounds of corn in one minute. Dozens of organizations were stationed inside the Capitol handing out goods like home-baked corn bread and moon pies, in a bid to promote the sector.
