Join us at the Tennessee State Fair as we celebrate “Red, White, & You!” The 2015 Fair kicks off on Patriot Day – Friday, September 11. To commemorate those who have sacrificed everything – first responders and military personnel – since the tragic events on this day in 2001, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation will present the 9/11 Never Forget exhibit at the Tennessee State Fair September 11-20, 2015.
The Siller Family started the foundation to honor the memory of their brother, Stephen, a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001, after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. In 2013, the foundation created a mobile exhibit as a tribute to all whose lives were sacrificed during the Attack on America. The 9/11 Never Forget exhibit is a tool to educate America’s youth about the historic events of that day. The exhibit is a high-tech, 53-foot tractor-trailer, which unfolds into a 1,000 sq. ft. exhibit. The memorial provides interactive education; including artifacts such as steel beams from the towers, documentary videos, recordings of first responder radio transmissions and live tours led by New York City firefighters.
Since the events of September 11, 2001, hundreds of thousands women and men have served in the United States military. These brave individuals have protected our freedoms from threats both domestically and abroad. This exhibit area of the Fair will allow for all Tennesseans to reflect on the events of that day and honor those who have served to protect our freedom.
