Great Lakes Timber Show

The Great Lakes Timber Show features chainsaw carving, axe throwing, wood chopping, one and two-man crosscut sawing, modified chainsawing, log rolling, and lots of family friendly entertainment! Take in the show in Volunteer Village after you grab a bite to eat from the Paradise Ridge saloon or one of our many Equine Events!



Fairest Of the Fair Pageant

The 2018 Tennessee State Fair Pageants will take over the Sports Arena on the closing weekend of the Fair. The Miss Sparkle pageant, featuring young women with special needs, will take place on Friday evening, September 7. Pageants for girls ages 0-20 years old will take place on September 7 – 8, 2017 in the Sports Arena Building.

Monster Trucks

Come out to the Fair on Friday, September 7 or Saturday, September 8 to see Bigfoot take on the biggest, baddest monster trucks in the business! To name a few, we’ve got Snake Bite, Ice Cream Man, X-Terminator, Razin Kane, Wolf Head, Barbarian and more*! Mix in quad racing and high-flying motocross and you’ve got the show of the season!

Two of the beloved Shopkins characters – Kooky Cookie and Apple Blossom will come to life for a meet and greet with their adoring fans. September 9th & 10th. 30 minute appearances on the hour from noon to 6pm.



Hedrick’s Racing Pigs

Featured in our new
Family Fun Zone! Come see some trained pigs race around a track! It’s sure to be a fun, and hilarious, event for all ages. You’ll be surprised at these cute little athletes!

Western Comedy Showdown

Curly The Kid and Colonel Phil Good will ride back into Volunteer Village, with their 2018 version of the Western Comedy Show. These two crazy cowboys can’t wait to tell fairgoers about their “Brand New, New and Improved, Bigger And Better, Miracle Tonic” that’s sure to cure all that ails ya. Shades of The Three Stooges and Mel Brooks, this wacky duo is always a crowd pleaser for audiences of all ages.



Balloon Bonanza

Sam the Balloon Man will be working in the Ag Live building, creating a huge work of art from balloons alone! Make sure to stop by daily as he is adding and expanding the balloon scene every day of the fair. See if you can tell which Tennessee Tradition he is building!



Boxing Night

Friday, September 15th, amateur and pro boxing come back to the Sports Arena at the 2017 fair. The Sports Arena has a long history of hosting incredible sporting events, and we can’t wait for Tri-Star Boxing to come in and host boxing night.
