ServiceMaster Restore presents A Salute to First Responders featuring the 9/11 Never Forget Exhibit

New in 2015, A Salute to First Responders celebrates the lives and sacrifices of the people who work daily to make the U.S.A. a better place to live. Visit this special exhibit located in the Family Zone at the Main Entrance. Join a tour led by real New York City firefighters in the 9/11 Never Forget Exhibit presented by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. The Tennessee State Fair and ServiceMaster Restore are proud to celebrate all police, fire, EMT, and military personnel.

Great Lakes Timber Show

Returning for the first time since 2012, the Great Lakes Timber Show features chainsaw carving, axe throwing, wood chopping, one and two-man crosscut sawing, modified chainsawing, log rolling, and lots of family friendly entertainment! Take in the show in Volunteer Village after you grab a bite to eat from the Paradise Ridge saloon or one of our many Equine Events!

Donate a canned food product to Second Harvest Food Bank at the Main Entrance for $2 General Admission! Fairest Of the Fair Pageant

The 2015 Tennessee State Fair Pageants will take over the Sports Arena on the closing weekend of the Fair. The Miss Sparkle pageant, featuring young women with special needs, will take place on Friday, September 18th at 5:30pm. Pageants for girls ages 0-20 years old will take place on Saturday, September 19th beginning at 10:00am.

The Kenya Safari Acrobats have been performing at the Tennessee State Fair for the past 9 years with crowds getting bigger every year. Their fabulous show returns, including balancing on chairs, limbo under a rod of fire, tumbling, and fire eating. Find them in Heritage Court!

Curly The Kid and Colonel Phil Good will ride back into Volunteer Village, with their 2015 version of the Western Comedy Show. These two crazy cowboys can’t wait to tell fairgoers about their “Brand New, New and Improved, Bigger And Better, Miracle Tonic” that’s sure to cure all that ails ya. Shades of The Three Stooges and Mel Brooks, this wacky duo is always a crowd pleaser for audiences of all ages.

Ice Cream Eating Contest

The annual Tennessee State Fair Kids Ice Cream Eating Contest is not only popular among contestants, but is one of the most biggest crowd pleasers year in and year out. Kids interested in participating can sign up at 1pm in front of the Moosic Stage on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Tennessee Craft Demonstrators

Take a moment to enjoy Tennessee Craft Artists display their talents in our Creative Arts Building. The Tennessee Association of Woodturners, The Handweavers Guild of Nashville, and The Clay Lady’s Studios will all be onsite during the 10-day fair to perform their craft. Demonstrations will be available on Saturdays and Sundays of the fair as well as the elementary and 4H/FFA field trip days.


Funnel Cake 5K

For the second year, Funnel Cake 5K comes to the Tennessee State Fair! Join your friends in a 5K run/walk event that rewards you with funnel cakes after you finish! Volunteer Village

Volunteer Village

Year in and year out, one of the most popular attractions for both children and adults, is the Volunteer Village. This area features pony rides for the kids, panning for gems, as well as Barnyard Animals. Travel back in time to our state’s roots and see demonstrations of pottery, weaving, sewing, and more. Here, fair-goers can also enjoy the Western Comedy Show, live Bluegrass Music on the Bluegrass Stage, as well as the famous traveling storyteller, Riverboat John.



 Kids’ Tractor Pull

Our friends at Tri-Green Equipment will host the Kids’ Tractor Pull in the Equine Arena located within Volunteer Village each Saturday. Hurry over to get your little farmer in on the action!



Dodgeball Tournaments

The Tennessee State Fair will be hosting two dodgeball tournaments in 2015. The tournaments will be a Service Industry Tournament (service industry members only), and the “Dodge For Dollers” Open. Both tournaments are single-day tournaments and are open to teams of six or more members.
