In true Nashville fashion, the fair will offer visitors the chance to sing their hearts out in the nightly Karaoke Showdown. Competition will be held every evening at 7pm at the Moosic Stage. Each night, the top two singers selected by judges will be asked back for Sunday’s Final Round on September 17th for first, second, and third place. Cash prizes!


Ice Cream Eating Competition

Eat your heart out and try not to get a brain freeze! Competition is at the Moosic Stage Saturdays & Sundays at 1:30. Make sure to come register at 1:00 before it begins! Ages 6-12


Potato Sack Race

Hop, hop, hop to the finish line! Compete with your friends in a Potato Sack Race during both Sundays of the Fair at Volunteer Village (Equine Area). Come over 30 minutes before it starts to sign up! Ages 4-12

Wanna hula hoop with the best of ‘em? Competition will be at the Moosic Stage, hosted by Hoopaholics Anonymous, First Saturday and Sunday at 2:30p.m., and the second Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m. Come sign up beforehand! Ages 4-12


Kids Tractor Pull

Come test your strength in our pedal pull competition! Hosted by TriGreen, it will be both Saturdays of the Fair at Volunteer Village 5:00. Registration is at 4:30 before the start! Ages 4-12



The State Fair invites ALL Tennessee Girls ages 0 to 20 to compete to be the next Queen of the Fair. This year’s Tennessee State Fair Pageants will be held on September 8 & 9, 2017 in the Sports Arena Building. TN State Fair Sparkle Pageant, a night of beauty for children & adults with disabilities, sponsored by Studio Six Limited, Paul Mitchell Stylists, and the TN State Fair, will be held Friday, September 9th. Bluegrass and Fiddlers Jamboree

Some of Tennessee’s greatest players are coming to the Fair to pick it to win it! Come one, come all to the Creative Arts Building on Saturday, September 10th. Registration is at 10am, and the competition begins at 11am. Registration is free with paid admission to the Fair. Cash prizes!

The bags will fly at the Tennessee State Fair Corn Hole Championships!

PRIZES: Monetary Awards for 1st ($300) / 2nd ($150) / 3rd Place ($50)

Dodgeball Competition

The 5th Annual “Dodging For Dollars” Tennessee State Fair dodgeball tournament takes place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 13th, and Thursday September 14th. Wednesday in an open tournament, and the college division will be held on Thursday for college students. The winning teams receive $250.00 payable to the charitable organization of their choice. The entry fee is $40 per team,which includes free admission to the fair, for up to ten team members. Each team must consist of at least six players, and teams are encouraged to wear uniforms and bring their biggest fans! Deadline for advanced registration is Monday, September 12th.
